Novaterm does not have a setting for either 14.4 or 28.8. Go to the terminal parameters screen and set the speed to either Hayes19.2 or Hayes38.4. Either is fine. - Adam ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Aug 1996 18:30:48 -0230 From: Adam Vardy Subject: Re: Novaterm 9.6 w/ swiftlink and RAM expansion unit On Wed, 7 Aug 1996, Aaron Baugher wrote: > Date: Wed, 7 Aug 1996 11:09:00 EST > From: Christopher McLeod > > Question: If I am using SwiftLink in my cartridge port, how > do I use a RAM expansion unit as well? > > Using a cartridge expander will not work because only one port > can be selected (on a cartridge expander) at a time (thus you > cannot be receiving data through your swiftlink AND writing > data to your RAM expander). > > I use an EX3 from CMD, with a 512K REU plugged into the first port, > and a Swiftlink in the second port. How much room have you got on your desk? A few days ago I got a 1750 REU from someone. While contemplating the same idea as Chris, I ran into a dilemma. The monitor support of my desk is a bit less than 6 inches above the main desk area. I stood the REU upright next to my computer and I find that it is not going to fit there (same thing with the Swiftlink, because of its cable). Both a cart expander and a Ramlink require carts to be inserted upright. So I can't do it even at all. :( Bad too, because unlike Chris, the only other modem I have to fall back on is my 1200 bps C=1670. - Adam ------------------------------ End of COMMODOR Digest - 10 Aug 1996 to 11 Aug 1996 *************************************************** =END=
