Poker players doubtless recognize the name. For those of you who don't, Wild Bill Hickok was dealt a hand of Aces & 8s in the Number 10 Saloon in Deadwood, Dakota Territory in 1876. Wild Bill didn't leave the table alive. The young man who dealt what became known as "Dead Man's Hand" was Charlie Rich. After the card game & shooting, Charlie Rich returned to Ohio and 60 years later died there. According to family legend, he never played another game of poker. Groaner for James Bond Fans: "For Your Ties Only" is the name given to a fabric potector & stain remover kit. On Progress: A few years ago, the only a few mushrooms were being cultivated--button, shitaki, blackforest--and home growers could only look forward to the button growing boxes in their basements. Fine mushrooms were invariably the quarry of knowledgeable professional hunters searching the forests or pigs with educated noses. Publications on mushrooms held out no hope for more. Now, they're selling *guaranteed* Morel mushroom growing kits in standard gardener's catalogs. Life IS getting better, but I'm waiting for them to produce truffle kits for my oak tree before I start to cheer. ------------ Category 2, Topic 10 Message 18 Mon Jul 24, 1989 J.RIVERA6 [Jumpin' Jack] at 20:17 EDT What, no D.I.Y. kits for the cultivation of Psilocybe Cubensis? ------------ Category 2, Topic 10 Message 19 Mon Jul 24, 1989 DO-RAE-MI [Ted] at 22:46 EDT Jack, By the time the stuff gets a Do-It-Yourself Kit, it also has a common name.
