This is indeed a powerful 'picture manipulator', capable of extensive file compression, and very quick file display. Would you believe up to 100 frames/second (for a *simple* graphic)? This can easily perform the usual function of a 'picture show' - i.e. just loading successive pictures (not necessarily related) and displaying them for a predetermined length of time, BUT, the amazing stuff starts to happen when you really call on it to do its thing with a series of specific 'animation frames' - i.e. running a series of slightly moved frames at say 60 frames/second! (Remember, your normal home movie runs at 15 frames/second). Talk about smooth scrolling! MOVING PICTURES will run from most any hi-resolution art - with utilities provided for suitable conversion. And speaking of utility, context sensitive HELP screens are available at any time at the touch of a key! I have a call in right now for Chris Zamara re adapting it to run in the COMAL environment (at present the program is patchable to BASIC programs). But in the meanwhile, in conversation with Wayne Schmidt at the WoC show, I discovered he's using this program all the time now and is *very* impressed! What more can I say?
