<C.SMEETS> Just for the 128 for now. Then I'll start on a 64 update
<TIGLON.G> Compatible 64-128 wise I mean?
<TIGLON.G> IE: will a 128 arc unarc on the 64 ARC...etc
<C.SMEETS> Yes...they're 100% compatible
<TIGLON.G> :clap: Well I am sure you have made all the C128 owners horribly 
happy
<[KeS] KEVIN.S> Or create a 64 ARC with the 128 program... will it warn you if 
you go over the size limit, etc.

<C.SMEETS> 40 works, but 80 is better
<TIGLON.G> <size limit?> Since when KeS? Only on SDA's

<TIGLON.G> I ARC on the hard drive... what do I care :grin:
<C.SMEETS> Which hard drive?
<TIGLON.G> Lt. Kernal, and a 9090
<TIGLON.G> it will also work on the SFD 1001
<C.SMEETS> ahh...how fast is ARC with the LT kernel?
<TIGLON.G> and the MSD for that matter
<TIGLON.G> Well, the Lt. Kernal is not the fastest hard drive out..but it
makes a LOT of
<TIGLON.G> difference... bout 40 % decrease in time
<TIGLON.G> as fast as the program can go..the drive will handle it! soo nice
<C.SMEETS> I kinda expectedmmore than that?
<TIGLON.G> Ive never timed it..I should huh!
<C.SMEETS> I've never timed it either
<TIGLON.G> there also isnt that REL file problem as with a 1541/71
<C.SMEETS> I found out about that REL problem only recently
<TIGLON.G> Its not a big deal, just have to turn off the drive before you DEARC
<C.SMEETS> I use the 4040 most of the time and rarely use REL files
<TIGLON.G> ARC wont work on USR files either eh?
<C.SMEETS> But I fixed it in the 128 version
<C.SMEETS> USR....that all depends on how "abnormal" they are
<TIGLON.G> about as abnormal as they can get..ie: GEOS files
<TIGLON.G> :Grin:
<C.SMEETS> Since a USR file
<C.SMEETS> I never use GEOS...
<TIGLON.G> Ah
<C.SMEETS> But I've seen some GEOS to SEQ file converters around
<TIGLON.G> Sure! But they are a pain... ehehe
<[KeS] KEVIN.S> Yes, but that is an annoying process.
<TIGLON.G> You have to copy files, convert them, copy them again, convert them 
over ..etc
<TIGLON.G> THEN you can ARC or whatever you wanna do to them
<[KeS] KEVIN.S> ...swapping disks/drives all the while.
<TIGLON.G> about 3 steps too many
<C.SMEETS> I can look into it, but its not a priority. I dislike non-standard 
things.
<TIGLON.G> I dont blame you..it is just a pet peeve of mine..thats all

<C.SMEETS> If I had to compensate for every program's pecuuliarities I'd
never get anything done.

As Chris told us, the 128 ARC version would be out in a matter of days. the
documentation <printed> will be for paid registered users. Send in those 
donations folks!!
