ACCOLADE ADDS GALACTIC WAR GAME TO AVANTAGE BRAND LINE-UP ACCOLADE - 20813 Stevens Creek Boulevard, Cupertino, California 95014 announces the release of "POWER" a new war game. The following is the text from their release information brochure. Entertainment software publisher, Accolade, Inc., introduced "POWER," a galactic war game which will be sold under the Avantage Brand, Accolade's mid-priced line of entertainment software. Featuring arcade-style action, "POWER" is a 22nd century war game. The player is pitted against the hostile Demoid Empire and his goal is to save the Earth from a terrorist attack. The Demoids occupy the Earth"s most vital "Mitonium" conversion plant, Earth's source of power in the 22nd century, and demand an unconditional surrender. The player must infiltrate the occupied asteroid and disable the converter before it can be destroyed by the Demoids. The player's mission is hampered by the attack of various Demoid battle ships. Using joystick controlled commands, the player has missiles and light phasors on hand to attack or defend himself in galactic battle. The arcade style design of "POWER" allows fast action and adventure. The player's space vehicle starts out with a limited amount of energy which diminishes when shot by Demoid space vehicles and increases when traveling in the direction of the "Mitomium" plant. When the space vehicle's energy supply is exhausted, the player must use his jetpack to go to a nearby pod where a reserve space vehicle is parked. There are eight of these pods throughout the game. The player has to succesfully complete seven levels of play before arriving at the converter. "POWER" ends when the player completes his mission and dissables the "Mitonium" power plant. The plant is surrounded by a force field that needs to be destroyed afterwhich the player can enter the plant and complete his mission. Featuring five skill levels, "POWER" is available on the Commodore 64/128 for $14.95 suggested retail. Other Avantage products include "SPY VS SPY I & II," "DECEPTOR," and "DESERT FOX" also available for $14.95 suggested retail. Accolade, Inc. designs and publishes entertainment software programs for Commodore, Apple, Atari and IBM personal computers. The company currently markets both its Avantage and premium titles through major national and international distributors, mass merchandisers and computer specialty stores. ### 30 ###
