You've brought up a very interesting point. This is as good a time and place as I'll get, so here's more information. That was part of the reason. Mostly, frustration was the reason I quit then. I won't go into it, but I had found one big collector that said he was willing to cooperate with the project, but only if he was involved on a strictly secret basis. This guy had maybe half the collection, or he an= d I did together. I worked with this guy for months, telling him about everyone who had a cool cart, so he could buy it. Well, right before I wa= s to "get paid" for all my work, by getting image copies of his now greatly increased cart collection, guess what? He cancelled the whole thing. This= , by the way, is AFTER I had traded him ER Atari 2600 carts, and done tons of work that benefitted him; he still just up and cancelled. I was FAR to= o frustrated to continue, at that point. One guy killed that project, just to protect his well-known inflated prices, and protect his sacred ego/reputation. That and going back to college to finish up my degree; I got my AS in Electronics, with highest honors recently, but had to go offline for quit= e awhile to do it. I'm going back soon for another degree, but with hopefully easier classes; I will probably have a reduced net presence, bu= t be around. But the unnamed JerkCollector screwed everything up for you people. I wis= h to apologize to everyone I spoke to, due to my anger and frustration at that time. But my attempts to "qualify my customers" now, stems directly from these prior bad experiences. So, some good news, now that I've explained the past. I kept going, for myself. But in the last two months, myself and one othe= r (very cool) individual have worked our asses off , and archived 150 of th= e 166 now-known Vic20 carts. We are testing them right now, and have already agreed on a rarity list, with gameplay for most carts we have. I started on a Vic20 FAQ, and I hav= e about 70 half-page or longer cartridge reviews done now, with the goal being a review for every single cart. This will all take time. My questions to the net, "qualifying my buyers" so to speak, was because I already spent 2 months of my summer vacation o= n Vic20 stuff, and was wondering if I should spend another month. Not one person replied to my FAQ post; not one. So, while it will eventually get done, its not a priority. You have no one to blame but yourselves. If anyone cries about it, I'm going to post the children's story "The little Red Hen" as my response. All in good time, right? Anyway, that's the state of various projects, right now. In Pocketwriter is requires you to first change the file type to seq with the cmd (CTR/a) then you just load the file, or load the seq file direct from the dir listing if your processor permits that. ***** kilroy ***** #! rnews 1725 Path: pravda.aa.msen.com!news1.best.com!nntp04.primenet.com!news.shkoo.co= m!nntp.primenet.com!news.mathworks.com!newsfeed.internetmci.com!uwm.edu!v= ixen.cso.uiuc.edu!dross From: dross@prairienet.org (Dave Ross) Newsgroups: comp.sys.cbm Subject: Advertisements reflected Date: 28 Jul 1996 21:03:55 GMT Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Lines: 31 Message-ID: <4tgkjr$5mu@vixen.cso.uiuc.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: bluestem.prairienet.org -=3D> Quoting Pap@dana.ucc.nau.edu to All <=3D- Pa> Going back through a modest collection of Commodore-specific Pa> magazines, its kinda cool to llok at some of the advertisements.=20 At my last trip to the thrift, I picked up a Protecto catalog (a bunch of photocopied sheets) from Feb. 15, 1983.
