My reply should read: Also, the SyQuest drives are loud (contrast the Zip drive) and they get quite hot for removable media because they are essentially a standard one platter hard drive with an added mechanism that allows the head to be safely lifted and the platter to be ejected... The Zip drive uses a different approach, the Zip disk itself is more like a floppy disk that has incredable access speed (for a floppy, that is) and the disk only spins when you are accessing the drive- the SyQuest spins constantly, like a hard drive... Well, that at least fixes the contradictory statement that was in my first reply but I really need to study up on how to write a comp. and contrast essay, no? later, Radioactive Warrior #! rnews 2635 Path: pravda.aa.msen.com!news1.best.com!nntp.primenet.com!news.cais.net!n= ews.mathworks.com!news.kei.com!nntp.coast.net!lll-winken.llnl.gov!uwm.edu= !cs.utexas.edu!news.ti.com!news.dseg.ti.com!news=09 From: egotrip@lesol1.dseg.ti.com (Mike Neus) Newsgroups: comp.sys.cbm,dfw.general,comp.sys.amiga,comp.sys.amiga.misc,c= omp.sys.be Subject: S.C.O.P.E User Group Meeting (Dallas, Tx.
